Become a Watchkeeper?
Volunteers are expected to undertake at least four watches per month during June, July and August. One of which should be an evening watch. For the remainder of the year, three watches per month are required. Training includes two half day classroom sessions followed by between 6 and 10 on the job watches under the direction and supervision of one of our qualified trainers before being assessed as a qualified watchkeeper.

Make a donation?
The initial fundraising to refurbish and equip the watch station was very successful, thanks to the generosity of many individuals, companies, and other organisations. But although watchkeepers are unpaid volunteers, and as much installation and maintenance work as possible is done by team members, that still leaves substantial running costs to be met.

Friends of Froward Point
The Friends of Froward Point consists of an energetic and imaginative group of ladies who organise fund raising and social activities for the NCI Froward Point station and its watchkeepers.

The group was formed in 2005 and has been very active, raising approx. £4,500 in 12 months. The local community has been hugely encouraging and supportive and there has been extensive press coverage of all the Friends’ functions.

Collecting boxes have been placed in local shops, pubs and clubs. Coffee mornings and cake sales have been popular and a number of one-off events such as a Day at the Devon & Exeter Races and a Wine and Cheese party have been well attended. The Friends produce a quarterly Newsletter with details of their activities.
