Become a watchkeeper

All of the training of our new volunteers is undertaken on the job at the Lookout and it is designed to be flexible and convenient for you. Watch hours are 09.00-13.00 and 13.00-17.00 from April to October inclusive, and 10.00-13.00 and 13.00-16.00 from November to March inclusive. We also provide daily evening watches from 17.00 to 20.00 in the Summer months of June, July, and August. We require two qualified Watch-keepers to be present on each watch period and we expect each volunteer, as far as possible, to complete a minimum average of two watches per month across the year. We also expect one additional evening watch per month during the busy summer months. You will also be required to wear the approved uniform when on duty.

Watchkeepers are also encouraged to help support our local fundraising activities that take place periodically throughout the year.
